Obra: Restaurante do Arquimago

In Greek City, there is a unique clinic.

The reason this clinic is unique is because the doctor is not human.

The doctor at this clinic is an elf.

Elena, an elf, came to the human world with the intention of practicing her medical skills and set up a clinic in Greek City.

“Rayne, the burn is severe, isn’t it?”

Elena, the elf doctor of Greek City, frowned. This level must be accompanied by considerable pain.

Seeing the severe burn marks, Elena felt pained.

“Indeed. I made a small mistake.”

Rayne spoke calmly, but her expression was heavily distorted, as if she was enduring pain.

“Don’t worry. I’ll heal you.”

Elena immediately used the healing magic, Heal, on Rayne’s hand. The burn area gradually recovered with a bright light.

“In the case of external injuries, unless they are large wounds, they can be treated with the healing magic ‘Heal’. So don’t worry. There probably won’t even be a scar.”

For internal injuries and large wounds, ‘Heal’ would be too much. In those cases, medical skills are used. Elena was proficient not only in healing magic but also in medical skills.

But recently, she has been feeling skeptical about this work itself. She wondered if it would be better to just return to the elf village. She was contemplating this.

The reason was the attitude of the humans.

The act of treating itself was rewarding. However, among the men who came to the clinic, there were almost none who actually sought treatment from her.

Most of the men were just desperate for affection.

The fact that they were more interested in her as a biological female rather than as a doctor made her feel disappointed.

Such things do not happen among the elves. Elena found it strange that humans were so fixated on her appearance.

She had left the forest and settled here with the difficult decision to help humans.

“Thank you! Elena, your magic is really amazing. But lately, you don’t look well. Is something wrong?”

Rayne said as she examined her healed hand.

“Yes, I haven’t been sleeping well lately…”

“Sleep? Are you worried about something?”

Rayne, with her characteristic nosiness, grabbed both of Elena’s hands. She had a look that said she would listen to her problems.

“No.”

“What about meals?”

“Yes, with vegetables bought from the market.”

Elena had not been able to eat meat since birth.

There is a saying that elves don’t eat meat, but it’s not that they can’t. They just don’t enjoy it.

However, in her case, she couldn’t digest meat properly since birth. It’s like she had the digestive system of a herbivore.

“You’re eating only raw vegetables all the time, so no wonder you have no energy.”

Rayne shook her head and suddenly clapped her hands. A good idea had occurred to her.

“It’s a bit far, but after the clinic, would you like to visit a restaurant on the hill?”

“A restaurant?”

“They can make delicious dishes with just vegetables. If it’s El.”

“What?”

Human restaurants were very predictable. It’s not that they didn’t have vegetable dishes, but they were centered on salads. So it didn’t feel much different from eating raw vegetables.

However, Elena didn’t have much complaint about the taste of the food. The problem was the humans pestering her.

“But still….”

She hadn’t made a single close human friend since coming to this city. She realized that getting close to humans was quite difficult. She used to wonder why so many elves in her hometown’s forest were fed up with humans.

The men pestered her, and the women looked at her with jealousy.

Elena couldn’t understand why they looked at her that way. Because of that jealousy, hardly any women came to her clinic.

In the meantime, Rayne was the only one who treated her well. Elena thought she was a good human. If all humans were like Rayne, she wouldn’t have these worries. That was Elena’s thought. She didn’t understand human nature well.

“It’s been a long time since I had something delicious. Since you recommended it, I’ll definitely go.”

“Alright. I don’t know what your worries are, but make sure to eat something delicious and cheer up, Elena.”

Elena nodded quietly.

But she didn’t have any expectation that there would be anything special. After all, it was a human restaurant. She didn’t think there would be food that suited her elven tastes. But since Rayne had recommended it, she couldn’t refuse.

Thinking that, Elena left the city after clinic hours and climbed up the hill.

As she walked, thinking that the setting sun was beautiful whether in a human city or an elf forest, a charming restaurant near the top of the hill came into view.

Seeing that, Elena thought it was in an odd location.

“But the view is nice.”

Looking at the view, Elena began to miss the nature of her hometown. Her once noble conviction was slowly fading. The thought of closing the clinic and returning home became firmer.

“Hello.”

When she entered the restaurant, there were no other customers. The owner was not visible either. Or was the woman in front of her the owner? Elena thought so because she was sprawled out on the table. She didn’t think there would be a customer sprawled out on a dining table.

Of course, the person Elena referred to as the woman in front of her was naturally Rurin.

Rurin was sprawled out on the table as usual. However, as she wasn’t asleep, she rubbed her eyes slightly and spoke.

“Uhh? A customer?”

“Yes, Rayne recommended this place… are you the owner…?”

“No! But aren’t you… an elf?”

Rurin got up from the table as if curious, jumped down to the floor, and approached Elena’s nose. Elena took a step back, slightly flustered.

“Y-yes?”

“I’ve never seen a female elf before. There was a male elf among El’s companions once. So you’re a female elf!”

“That’s correct. A male elf?”

“Hmm, all elves are beautiful. Truly, truly!”

Elena tilted her head. The woman in front of her had a beauty that was not inferior to that of the elf tribe. Honestly, Elena had never seen a human as beautiful as this woman.

However, unlike Elena, no man approached Rurin. Although she didn’t intentionally emit it, a subtle aura that couldn’t be overcome always surrounded her, so even when human men saw her beauty, they couldn’t think much about it. Therefore, it was correct to say there was no human who could handle Rurin, except for El.

“You are truly beautiful yourself…?”

“Am I beautiful? Hehehe. But I’m not human, am I? Can’t you see that, elf? That useless male elf who was El’s companion was a mess!”

Hearing those words, Elena was shocked and stared directly into Rurin’s eyes. Deeply meeting those eyes, Elena was terrified and prostrated herself on the spot.

“Great Being…! Please forgive my rudeness!”

Elena began to tremble. It was a natural reaction. Dragons are the highest beings that one can’t even dare to converse with.

Elena couldn’t understand why a dragon was in a place like this. Was it out of amusement? Well, it wouldn’t be impossible if it was amusement.

The elf tribe is born with an aesthetic sense that discerns lies. That’s why Rurin told Elena, ‘How can you not know that?’ If an elf looks deeply into someone’s eyes with intention, they can see the essence of things.

“I dislike humans, and I don’t particularly like elves either. And I hate dragons who bother me. So, I hate everyone.”

Looking down at the trembling elf, Rurin started an absurd story. It was as good as saying she hated elves, so Elena had to feel serious fear.

“Well, I also have some issues with humans….”

So she could only agree. That was the best Elena could do.

But soon she realized it wasn’t the time to agree.

Dragons who hate humans have brought great disasters to the continent. Historically speaking.

There have been many dragons who destroyed kingdoms, brought down empires, and caused great dangers. The way Rurin was speaking exactly created such a sense of fear, so Elena had to feel tremendous fear.

In that case, even her hometown, the elf forest, would be harmed.

As an elf who loved peace, Elena thought such a thing shouldn’t happen and mustered all her courage to dare to ask.

“But Great Being, if you hate humans, why are you… enjoying yourself in a place like this, may I ask?”

Rurin shook her head violently at Elena.

“I hate humans. But I misspoke when I said I hate everyone. Hehe. El is different. As long as El is here, it doesn’t matter if I hate everything else. Got it? By the way, elf. You know of my existence now? El said not to reveal my identity.”

“Th-that! No! The elf tribe has never interfered with the amusement of a Great Being! We know well what disaster it could bring…. I will never reveal it, Great Being… Have mercy….”

Elena was so surprised that she bowed her head.

“I didn’t say I’d kill you. Then, elf. Become my subordinate. I have no subordinates. Then I’ll spare you! Because you praised me, I’m sparing you!”

But at that moment, Rurin was grabbed by the scruff of her neck.

“Wh-what!”

“What do you mean what? Why are you scaring the customer?”

It was El, who appeared from the basement, who grabbed her by the scruff. El pulled Rurin into his arms.

The back of Rurin’s head touched El’s chest.

El didn’t understand what was going on right now. But Rurin, already scared, started to play innocent.

“When did you come? I don’t know. This elf bowed down first!”

Of course, it’s true that Elena bowed down first. That much was true.

“Elf?”

“Yes!”

Rurin flailed her arms and jumped up and down. Hearing the word elf, El looked at Elena and nodded when he saw her ears. If she was an elf, her identity must have already been revealed.

“Stop joking around and switch with me. Go dig up some earth. I wish you’d realize you’re struggling to build your house right now. Go down quickly!”

“Is it my turn already? It doesn’t seem like it’s been long since you went down….”

When El glared at her, Rurin shrugged and slowly walked to the back of the restaurant, muttering.

“Ugh, I get it. I’ll do it.”

Elena raised her head slightly and watched the scene. The man in front of her was not a dragon. No matter how she looked, he was human. There was no trace of polymorph.

A human treating a dragon like that? Elena, facing an incomprehensible reality, spiraled into confusion.

Grabbing a dragon by the scruff was a huge cultural shock for Elena, and a dragon moving according to a human’s words was beyond cultural shock, it felt like a destruction of values.
